Move beyond the rigid, linear document. RuneQuilt's dynamic, multi-column grid lets you write your prose side-by-side with your timelines, notes, and character arcs.

If you're managing 100,000+ words, a cast of dozens, sprawling locations, and intertwined character arcs, standard word processors break down. Scrivener is too rigid. Google Docs is too slow. Writing becomes a frustrating game of alt-tabbing between your manuscript and a dozen disjointed notes apps. RuneQuilt brings the pieces together.
Track your entire universe in a dedicated, searchable interface. Type [@$: right in
the editor to instantly pull up a real-time smart-search dropdown and inject character names,
locations, or artifacts into your prose.
Never lose a brilliant paragraph again. RuneQuilt automatically creates hidden restore points when you take destructive actions. Browse your history of snapshots and revert your manuscript to a previous state with a single click.
Track your progress and analyze your prose like a professional. Keep an eye on live visual progress bars for your daily goals, or generate a dedicated Flesch-Kincaid column to score the readability and pacing of individual scenes.
You don't have to start from scratch. Instantly translate your existing .docx files
into our structured grid, preserving your headings and formatting. When you're ready, compile it
back out to a clean, flawlessly formatted Word document.
Currently, RuneQuilt is Windows-only. We focused heavily on native Windows performance for our initial launch. However, a native macOS version is firmly on our roadmap and will be prioritized based on our initial adoption.
No. RuneQuilt is a 100% offline, local-first application. Your stories, your notes, and your lorebook live exclusively on your hard drive. There is no cloud syncing, no telemetry, and no telemetry data collection. You own your data entirely.
The Lorebook acts as a localized database integrated into your
text editor. By typing [@$:, a dropdown appears allowing you to select characters,
places, or items. If you update the spelling of a name in the Lorebook, it automatically updates
everywhere in your manuscript.
You can export your compiled manuscript directly to widely
compatible .docx format for sending to editors or betas, or to a clean Markdown
file. We also support importing existing .docx files straight into the grid.
I built RuneQuilt to manage the chaos of complex worldbuilding and writing, and it currently works beautifully for my own workflow. Now, I’m opening the doors to a small group of early adopters.
Right now, RuneQuilt is in early access. That means you are getting in on the ground floor, but it also means you will encounter bugs, quirks, and rough edges that I haven't caught yet. If you need hyper-polished, 100% flawless software today, please wait for the official v1.0 release.
But if you’re willing to navigate a few glitches and help shape the future of the app, I want to reward you for it.
Because you’re taking a chance on RuneQuilt early, you get access at the heavily discounted Founder's Rate of $60/year.
Once the software is battle-tested, completely stable, and fully launched to the public, the subscription price will go up for all new users. However, as a Founder, your early-adopter rate is grandfathered in. Your price will never go up for as long as you keep your subscription active.
RuneQuilt is 100% offline. There are no cloud servers to maintain, and your data never leaves your hard drive. So why an annual subscription instead of a one-time purchase?
I believe this tool should be accessible. To celebrate the launch and get our first few beta testers on board, you can use the promo code FIRSTFIVE at checkout to get your first year for just $10.
This code is limited to the first 5 uses. If you miss it, or if money is genuinely tight, operate on the honor system. Reach out to me and I'll make sure you can use the software. But if you can afford the standard Founder's Rate, please pay it so I can continue keeping the lights on and making RuneQuilt better every month.
Your rate will be locked in forever.
